Guide Shoes

Guide shoes (guide holders) are guiding components that help the elevator car move smoothly and stably along the guide rail. They control the contact between the car and the rail and help maintain proper alignment on the rail.

TMS Lift guide shoes are available in special aluminium alloy and GGG40 cast iron body options. The body material can be selected according to the weight, strength, and load requirements of the application.

To see the available options, please visit the “Guide Shoe Models” section. For dimensional details, please see the “Guide Shoe Dimensions” section.

Guide Shoe Selection Guide

Mounting geometry: Choose flat vs L-shaped based on bracket/interface and available space.

Standard applications (up to ~10 persons): Select the aluminum models specified for standard use. (Models; 100 020, 100 020 L, 140 030, 140 030 L)

Above-standard weight / high traffic / frequent stops: Select the aluminum models for intensive duty where stable alignment and uniform load transfer are priorities. (Models; 180 030, 180 030 L, 180 050, 180 050 L)

Heavy-load elevators: Select GGG40 cast iron housing models where higher structural strength and load capacity are required. (Models; 300 030, 300 031)

Insert material & rail width: Select the insert material (PE/PA/PU/AS/SL) based on speed, load, rail condition, and ride comfort targets, then verify rail width compatibility and the applicable insert plastic codes on the selected guide shoe model page. View the link: Guide Shoe Inserts.
