Guide Shoe Inserts
Guide shoe inserts are the sliding parts used inside elevator guide shoes. They stay in contact with the guide rail and help control friction, wear, vibration, and running comfort during elevator operation.

TMS Lift offers PE 1000, PA, PU, antistatic PE 1000, superlining (high-density) PE 1000, PVC options for different speed, load, rail, and comfort requirements.
PE 1000 Versions with the addition of elastic Vucell padding are used in applications that require shock, vibration, and noise absorption.
To review the available options and their suitable application areas, please see the “Guide Shoe Insert Models” section.

Guide Shoe Insert — Selection Guide
Select the insert by speed range, load/duty, rail condition, lubrication strategy, and environmental constraints.
Selection by material
- PE 1000 (Polyethylene) — used in high-speed applications (up to 3 m/s) and high-load applications. Very hard / low-friction sliding behavior, high resistance to wear and compression (10 N/mm²). Depending on rail quality, can be used without lubrication.
- SL (High-density – Superlining PE 1000) — for demanding conditions where standard polyethylene performance is insufficient. Higher wear resistance than standard PE 1000; maintains performance on difficult surfaces and particulate environments.
- AS (Antistatic PE 1000) — for environments where friction-generated static electricity on plastics can create safety risks (fire/explosion hazard areas).
- PA (Polyamide) — for medium speed applications (up to 1.6 m/s) where durability and stable form retention are required. Hard plastic group with good sliding; oil/lubrication required.
- PU (Polyurethane) — for low speed, comfort-oriented installations (up to 1 m/s). Good vibration/noise damping and quiet operation; oil/lubrication required.
- SIL (Silicone) — economical option for low speed, quiet operation; flexible structure helps surface conformity and smooth sliding; oil/lubrication required.
Vibration and noise damping
PE, SL and AS inserts can be produced with a VUCELL damping layer to reduce vibration and noise.

Related Components
Guide shoe inserts are selected together with the guide shoe body and, when applicable, rail lubrication to achieve stable rail guidance, controlled friction, and predictable wear performance.
